Has anyone come across this before?
When I set off from stand still, with moderate or hard acceleration a noise best described as a chirping noise comes from what sounds like the left had side of the gearbox.
This has been happening for some time and is slowly getting worse. It happens more now even under lighter acceleration.
At start up cold it does not do it but after a few miles it starts to do it. The hotter it gets the worse it gets.
Once I get to 30....40 it stops....it does it in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear.
So...As I start off....it goes.....chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp......get fainter as speed increases.
The gearbox does not slurr its shift and is crisp and sharp on changes and it kicks down perfectly and quickly. At speed hard acceleration and gear shift are perfect and no weird noises.
I have changed the gearbox oil and filter - no difference.
I have changed the gearbox oil flow divert or / splitter - no difference.
Gearbox oil does not look dark or over heated.
Independent gear box specialist can't figure it .. from driving says the gear box is functioning perfectly...and I tend to agree.
Its loud enough now to feel like something is going wrong but I can't get a handle on what it is. Car is not really drivable now it does it that much and loudly.
Any ideas anyone.
