Is missing on this car, what did the key do ? will it cut out as I take the straight six to heaven on the M53 ? will it never start again once the battery is reconnected ?

Im not sure if its a fac immobi but of the 13 cars I have seen a lot of them had the socket under the dash by drivers knees

As ever - newbie appreciates input

TIA

It meant for silencing the alarm if there is fault or used to reset the alarm. It works only for 250 times then it invalid. Don't use the red one for reset, use the black one instead. Use red one for synchronising the black ones. When new you should have one red and two blacks.

The alarm comes from Scorpion which long gone out of business and Merc will not support it because it third party.

What if you have no red - alarm u/s (not that its essential having an alarm on a 10 y / o weekend driver)

I want to remove the two ultrasonic matchboxes anyway !!

I have a little red key, but no hole in the dash or in the glove compartment (the other location I've heard of). I think there's an alternative installation where the LRK can be inserted into the alarm box itself (under the bonnet?) to disable the siren. I must have a look one day - only had the car 4 years :D
