When I saw this beast, I immediately thought about this forum and you guys :D I HAD to take a few pics...Not the best quality, since I used my phone.

How rare these things are? Only 10-20 in the UK, no?

I haven't covered the number plate, because it would spoil the overall look :D

The rear plate looks like it's been stuck over another plate. Nice car but still prefer the kit on mine....

That car looks amazing and the kit really suits it in silver. Good find, and yes, very rare with the M119 6.0L V8.

That's nice, got the optional AMG back box too. IIRC there were about 50 RHD sold in the UK.

Lovely car, I miss mine, even though it was only a 500.

Looks like the car that belonged to a chap called Tunde- he was selling it about 2 years ago.

I really like the wheels. The rears got a nice dish and classy 5 spokes always look good :)

The wheels are AMG I 2-piece (8.5" front, 10" rear). Yes they are very nice ;) :)

I think the car would originally have had 3-piece rims. Not 100% sure when they changed to the 2-piece design.

I think only the early cars with the early kit had 3 piece OZ alloys

Anyone know`s where the SL730 went????

I believe the change to 2pc wheels happened as part of the facelift.

If I'm not mistaken, technically all SL60's are facelift. Pre-facelift cars should be designated 500SL 6.0AMG, reflecting their nature as modified 500's at a time when AMG was still a separate company.

I suspect they were badged SL60 from 1993 onwards, when the change from "500SL" to "SL500" came in. I.e. not linked to the 1996 facelift.

Quite possibly, although some sources seem to indicate that production stopped in 93 when the engines moved from KE to LH injection, and others say the contrary. TBH it's hard to tell, as with all AMG stuff before the assimilation there's not so much info to be had.
