I bought a CLC350 about 14 months ago and I love the car, but the AM radio reception has been really poor since purchasing it. I bought it from Mercedes Chesterfield. I emailed them on numerous occasion about the issue but got no reply. Eventually I took the car to Mercedes Warrington who found the problem to be the rear windscreen and a blown receiver(?). They priced the work at £1100 + VAT.
As the car has only done 25000 miles they applied for "good will" to Mercedes. Mercedes have offered to pay 14% of the bill. I finally spoke to Mercedes Chesterfield and they suggested that Mercedes should pay the whole amount as it was broken when I bought the car. It had less than 13000 on the clock when I bought it. So Mercedes Chesterfield suggested I ring the head office in Milton Keynes as this radio reception rear window issue is a known problem.
My questions would be; is it a known problem? If so should I phone head office and complain? Is there an alternative?
This issue may seem trivial, but I mostly listen to 5 live for the football and the poor reception is really spoiling my enjoyment of the car
