RainX tips?

I can hear your Thinkware dash cam, I have them too. Very useful especially entering a speed camera zone 👌
Yeah though I need to update the camera database 😆 , currently relying on Google maps which seems to have most of the cameras mapped out

Is it free to download? haven't done mine since I brought it.
I've been looking for UK speed camera updates but can only find US and Canada 😱 databases on the thinkware website. It was free to download at the time. I guess my cameras are really old too, two are F770s and one is an F800 pro which is also pretty old now 😕

Well i have the U1000, with front and rear camera, it's been superceded too, i reckon it could do with an update, if it's available? 🙄

It's worth checking what the latest database available is. I'll have a look and let you know mate

XRain on its way, waiting on Amazon delivery, should arrive tomorrow. Never used the product, so will be first time use, will update 👍

I didn't know this but rainx do a screen wash too as I noticed in halfords today. I'm going to potentially buy some and give it a try

My CLC has perfectly good wipers on the front, so looking at this post I am Leary about using Rainx on the front, but my rear window has no wipers and is awful to look out through during rain. This seems to call for a hydrophobic product, but which one? I have looked at Turtle wax Clearvue, Mayfield Glass Coating, and of course RainX. Any preferences?

You can't go wrong with turtle wax hybrid solutions seal n shine sealant which is an excellent paintwork product or even one of their other ceramic sprays which can be used on windscreens. I did a 50 50 rain X 2 in 1 and turtle wax seal n shine and even after cleaning my windscreen with screen wash various times , the turtle wax is going strong weeks later. Can't recommend it enough. There's no smearing on application and the results speak for themselves.

I hadn’t thought of that, I’ve used Turtle wax on the paintwork but was concerned about using it on the screens. I’m reassured, so I’ll try it.
Thank you Spikey, if the Turtle wax don’t work, I’ll try it.

It's not the cheapest option, but I've found it works well and lasts ages. I don't use it on the front screen, just side glass and rear window. Front screen just gets a semi-regular scrubbing with a dedicated piece of clay bar.

Most of the new turtle wax products are usable on all exterior surfaces which is why I've dumped my old style products as the results vs effort from the "new" turtle wax range eg hybrid solutions is far superior and I've now been using them on the windscreen and the results are brilliant and visibility in the wet is far superior to having no hydrophobic coating on the screen
