RainX v Autobrite Repel

I did try RainX many years ago, and I didn’t like the smearing on the windscreen.

Whilst not the brands discussed here, I have a similar product on our cars, and I like it. It doesn’t smear either, well it does just a little for the first couple of sweeps, but no more than that. Whether it’s the product, or maybe because it’s professionally applied, I’m not sure.

Driving without wipers really comes into it’s own on very long journeys in heavy rain.
That sounds very interesting, it would be good to know what this product is especially if it spreads better than rain x

Did any of you guys experience wiper juddering after rain-x,? It happens to me so annoying. Any tricks fix to share?

I have found that RainX will smear with the windscreen wipers if you put too much on and/or you don’t buff it off properly after applying it.
Personally I like the product and have been using it for years.

As in post number 4, I also stopped using it as after a certain amount of time it wil leave a greasy film on the screen unless it is cleaned off and reapplied. To be honest, I've found all of these products are better applied to the side windows and possible the lights. The windscreen is best looked after by the wipers.

Not really, when you don't need to pay for a pointless product?

Methinks you can't knock it 'till ya try it. Sorry, couldn't resist.
Everyone else; I use Rain X, and yes it can be a pita as others have mentioned with the streaks, which you basically just have to live with, but when it works it kicks ass. Can I say that here? I actually go outta my way to get a good coat on before rain so I can skip using the wipers. Maybe it's just the kid in me but I like it when it's pouring and everyone else is having trouble seeing except for a little clear trail following behind the wiper blade, and I can cruise along full speed seeing just fine. I can't see like it weren't raining but I can see a hella lot better that with wipers, and for some reason I just get a big kick outta that and watching it work. How well Rain X works varies a LOT from car to car, which was disappointing, until one day I realized something: It worked just ok on my truck until I replaced the windshield, then Rain X on that new glass worked better than any car ever! I was blown away by how well it worked and in fact I haven't even had wipers on my truck since, they would be a step backwards! After that I paid attention and the more little micro pitting in the glass the less effective it is, which is a bummer because glass is too $pendy to buy just so my toy works. So I thought I'd add that for people who's results vary a lot, as mine do.
I also tried NeverWet and it went on, smelled, left streaks and works like Rain X, except it didn't last nearly as long so it's a fail imo. I'm currently running with CarPro Reload on the glass, because I like to experiment, I had it and was bored. While it's not nearly as good as Rain X, it's not bad either. It goes on and off super easy and leaves no trace so I was pretty happy about that. I always wax my glass, inside and out when I do the the car, except for when I expect rain (rare where I live), then it's Rain X, but I think this Reload stuff just may be my new glass wax.
