Re-ordered number plate lettering

Not sure if you're serious? :dk:

Not squashing them together to make it look like something else. there is a rule about the size of the gap between letters, that would stay.

I was being serious, as you posted that you could space your letters/digits as you wish, as long as they were spaced legally. Therefore, you don't have a choice of spacing as you wish, as the legal requirements will dictate your spacing, unless I have misread something.
IIRC its 11mm between characters and 33mm between 'groups'.

PS your number plate doesn't annoy me, as I have far more important issues in my life that demand my attention (and annoyance) such as wife, child, pets, family, work :D:D:D

I will leave it to the others to be annoyed at you for such a heinous crime! You should be ashamed of yourself. You are on a slippery slope of criminal activity, one minute you are mis spacing registration plates and before you know it you will be parking on the wrong side of the road in hours of darkness :eek:

You were quite right to point out my comment made little sense, what I really meant to say was "You can 'move' the letters as long as they are in the right order and are spaced correctly, and of course in the correct font etc."

Nevertheless, I've always thought it a bit rich that DVLA will happily sell, at a premium, registration plates which only command that premium because they will inevitably be mucked-about with to 'read' (in your dreams, sunshine ) something chavvy, yet the buyers may then get into trouble with another arm of the government for doing the mucking-about, which has only been made possible in the first place by the DVLA.

DVLA don't sell plates that need to be mucked about with at premium rates.
They sell them at auction with very sensible reserve prices.... See here..

Stupid people bid silly prices for them.

DVLA do put a premium on good personal plates, but again the reserve prices are sensible for such plates.
It's the bidders/buyers who hike the prices up.

Personally I find mucked about plates such as the X1V GS and V12 1AN F 'annoying' not because of the spacing but because I think they are sh*t.
I'd rather have 454 XPG for example, which I think just looks nicer, even though it's meaningless than M4T PA.

Oooooooooh, get her!! :p

454 XPG? Isn't that just a cheap pikey plate?

Hahaha

Popcorn at the ready

The numbers and letters need to be positioned on the plate so they can be read but moving them left or right would be fine as long as they are not too close to the other to cause mis-reading.

You'd still need a framework (so they are not too close together or too near the top / bottom / left / right etc.) but there should be no problem with V12 1AN F or V121 ANF in this day and edge.

not because of the spacing but because I think they are sh*t

Others could say the same about your plate.

You've touched a subjective issue there which there on which there may never be agreement - but there doesn't need to be...

Same as everyone's choice of everything in this world.

Each to their own - as long as they are not breaking the applicable law.

I don't like any mercedes apart from the sl as it happens.
Its only my opinion, it's not the law.
I think any misrepresented plate is sh*t. I don't think they look good and are worth the money(Any money).

No, pikey plates are usually something like GT 7 or 2PB on transit vans. Something like 454 XPG would most likely be a plate that has been put on a dateless year car after the good plate has been sold on but is still transferable, but saying that they are usually *AS *** plates as they come from unregistered Scottish stock.

I am a bit of a plate nerd.

.

Of course they can. Some people think any private plate is sh*t, pointless and stupid, whether the buyer has spent £50 or £500,00.

Opinions offend all the time. But the people with those plates did ask. I haven't asked for opinions on mine.

The way I look at this number plate thing is this,if the automatic number plate camera the old bill have can read it then nobody should be at all bothered, there are far bigger car crimes being committed out there, putting fog lights on in the rain,no lights, undertaking, the list is large,
