Read this is you have a C class on order!!

That's not my experience of car buying in the US. Painful was the best word I could use at main dealers. Sticker price = what it's worth x 2 then argue till you agree and sales manager agrees (this isn't the sales person you deal with but someone in a office hiding!) wasted most of a day doing this before I gave in and went to a used car dealer & bought a better car for less & he's been great :)

That's exactly the same as the process I went through buying my car from MB Direct, Birmingham.

Which state? We were in Massachusetts

Nevada! I know they all differ though :)

Never had a problem in the UK, except when I was about 19 and was buying a 3 yr old AX from a Citroen main dealer, spent the whole time talking to my then BF who was blind (white stick kinda gave it away lol) and obv wasn't the one who the car was for!

OT - sorry!

i know exactly what you mean Kate! i took my dad when buying my 1st (citroen AX14TZS, loved that car!) & 2nd car (peugeot 306 xt), on both occasions, they talked to him all the time when they knew it was me doing the buying!

dad was a bit of a car nut & i was so worried i'd buy the wrong thing or do a duff deal, it was just easier for him to come along. needless to say as i got older, i didn't take him on any further shopping trips :p

Just a quick update for anyone interested. After hitting problems getting the c-class the dealers have got me an e350cdi saloon. I've got a fantastic deal from them and hope to pick it up Friday (due in the dealership tomorrow).

Spec is Iridium silver, panoramic roof, leather, wood trim and Nav50.

Roll-on Friday....

That's why I bought most my cars so far 'nearly new' - few months old and very low mileage, you choose the one you want from the available stock and drive it off the same day (Car Giant). No messing about with the dealers complex ordering system... and they are all complex

Well it seems like the MY2011 cars have Parktronic as standard but with a £500 price rise - so they give you a £605 option as standard and then increase the price by £500!!

Yes it does say on MB website that to take advantage of the current finance deals, the car must be registered by the 30th June. Unless it's a C63 AMG, in which case you have until the 30th September!
