Hey all, I have a 92 W124 300E (great looking photos of it in the gallery) with what I think is a rear shock problem, when it's just me and the wife in the car it's fine but when we carry a rear passenger or the boot is loaded the back of the car bounces big time every time we go over a bump in the road (it makes people feel positively sea sick) I'm thinking it's the rear shocks that need replacing (if someone could confirm that would be great) but I'm unsure as to whether I need to get self leveling shocks or not, also I'd like to do a search on the web but need the part number and I assume this would be on the shocks somewhere?
Many Thanks :)

As a saloon I woould doubt it has self levelling.

Put your VIN number into the checker site and see what it comes up with.

Sounds like the dampers are worn out.

Check here for both

Here is a good linky for OEM parts.

The OEM would almost certainly have been Boge.

Thanks for the help, when you say dampers that would be rear shocks?? (sorry, nube)

Yes.
The term shock absorbers is really a specific term applying to a spring and damper setup, such as a Macphereson strut.

Your car has springs and dampers seperate from each other.

Thanks again for your help :)
