Rear View Mirror

Hi All,

Daft one here, but how do you fit the rvm back into its slot? (W202)

Came out easy enough but now I can't get it back in. The spring is really tight and I can't push the pins in on either side, even if I use the back of a screwdriver.

Anyone got a method they use for pushing these back in?

Locate the left hand side pin first, hold the right hand side of the mirror up to the roof, so its sitting at an angle, and then give it a good whack from below (taking care not to break the thing!) - you'll find with a bit of brute persuasion, it will clunk back into place.

Had a quick go this morning but didn't work so will try properly tonight.

But.................seeing as it's out, would be a perfect opportunity to fit an auto dimming one!!!!

So any one got one kicking about?!?!!?

Will give it a go tonight, but those pins don't wanna budge. The spring is very stiff.
