Rectify Tyre Pressure Message on TPMS

About a week before Christmas (after about 5 hours on the motorway and then crawling round city entre traffic for an hour) when I turned the engine off a message came up on the cluster saying "Rectify Tyre Pressure" and showing me the pressures (I have the TPMS).

As I already knew my front tyres were too high I didn't think too much of it.

Got the message a couple of times over Christmas - always after turning engine off.

Finally got to a garage yesterday and remembered to sort pressures out. Front are now 2.4 bar warm and rears are 2.5 warm (which is more or less what they should be).

Today however I have got the "Rectify Tyre Pressures" message again.

Checked the manual and it says it could be a number of things (like puncture - which it obviously isn't) including a large variance in pressures.

Now there was 0.5 bar difference between lowest and highest when warm before I sorted them out but not now.

Is there a problem with the system or do I need to reset it somehow (I know there is a menu option of using current values as good - or words to that effect).

Thanks in advance.

Have also had a couple of random (though not repeated) warnings on seperate occasions about lane assist and high beam assist not being available. Engine off and on and all well again. Put those down to the thick layer of crap covering the car and therefore thr relevant sensors/cameras. Hopefuly not related to the tyre pressue warning - it did cross my mind whether something more central was playing up.

In case people have signatures turned off, I have a 2010 (March) E350 CDI Sport Saloon. Tyres are in good condition with ample tread. Milege is 14k.

I also apologies for any poor spelling in the post - I am typing on my phone and my fat fingers are cold! :)

Take a look in your manual.

I just have the pressure loss monitor on mine, but when I last had a puncture, I had to use the on board computer to reset the message again.

Manual just tells me it could be many things which I know it isn't (like a puncture) or that there is too much variance in the pressures (which there was but no longer is).

Might give resetting the TPMS a go if the message comes up again unless someone has any more info.

Check page 361 of your manual ("restarting the tyre pressure monitor"), it goes through the procedure and reasons for resetting the display message .

Thanks

I have seen the menu option before but never used it.

I had this on my 2007 e320. Resetting the system worked for me and it hasn't resurfaced in the last two months.

Ditto, found this out after having 2 new rear tyres fitted recently & the fitter put different pressures in them to what tpms had been set at so shortly after pulling out of the garage a message came up"check tyre pressures",after putting the correcet pressures in the tyres & resetting the tpms on the obc everything is now fine.
