Or plates with no 'flags' on at all.The exit from the EU required 3 stickers. 2 to go over the EUstars/GB and an oval white UK sign on the boot. Cost peanuts from Ebay.
I might have mentioned this on here before but one of my neighbours has a Triumph bike just a few years old 'retro' look . He rides around with black and silver pressed steel numberplate on it . The numbers and letters identify it as a pretty new bike.Pressed alloy plates are not legal on any car newer than 1980.

Has he been stopped by the police?I might have mentioned this on here before but one of my neighbours has a Triumph bike just a few years old 'retro' look . He rides around with black and silver pressed steel numberplate on it . The numbers and letters identify it as a pretty new bike.
He just doesnt give a $hit . He likes the way it looks on his 'retro' styled bike .
I thought this was just silver-on-black pressed plates. I’ve had a pressed alloy yellow reflective plate on my JZR (1998 reg) for years, it’s even curved to fit round the bodywork. Passed many MoTs.Pressed alloy plates are not legal on any car newer than 1980.
Not that I am aware of . He takes his bike(s) into his house through the front door and they live in his dining room area.Has he been stopped by the police?
Not Married, Divorced, or a very understanding Wife?He takes his bike(s) into his house through the front door and they live in his dining room area.
Understanding wife , he also owns a classic 'tuned' Lambretta , which also live in the dining room . Both bikes are used as 'decoration' when not being ridden. Not Married, Divorced, or a very understanding Wife?

I would suggest that the rear plate is not legal due to it's shape. Buy there is no attempt to 'hide' the digits from ANPR , so who cares ? Certainly not me and probably no copper or MOT tester would really bother much.So according to the latest regulations the front my front plate is not legal and the rear one is It's a funny old world!....

For your reference both have legal fonts, legally spaced and the makers name and postcode displayed.

Because they have to be reflective after 1980....pressed ones are not.I thought this was just silver-on-black pressed plates. I’ve had a pressed alloy yellow reflective plate on my JZR (1998 reg) for years, it’s even curved to fit round the bodywork. Passed many MoTs.
The rear is perfectly legal! There is no max and min size, or indeed shape! Old Jag and Rover plates were legal 'oversized' and shaped to fit the aperture in the boot lid. The only requirement is that there is an min of 11mm of reflective background around all the legally spaced digits. Whilst there are 'normal' sized plates, the law does not state a maximum size!I would suggest that the rear plate is not legal due to it's shape. Buy there is no attempt to 'hide' the digits from ANPR , so who cares ? Certainly not me and probably no copper or MOT tester would really bother much.
