Remapped???

After reading comments about remaps on several threads, I wondered if my car may have been remapped. It seems to be more powerful than I would have expected ( my last two cars were an S80 2.4 petrol & a 406 3L v6 ) and the fuel consumption is about 10% less than the computer indicates, is here any way to find out?

Get it on a rolling road and see what the torque and HP come to.

If they are far greater than what is stated in the book (or parkers) then I guess it's been fiddled with.

If it's been remapped the HP should be up in the 170's, not sure about the torque.

But also, if you are not used to driving a diesel, then the amount of low down acceleration you get compared to a similar powered petrol engine will be suprising! You get a lot of torque from a diesel which will give you a lot of shove but ultimately it will run out of steam at higher rpm.

Coming out of two big floaty barges onto a diesel, you will notice a massive difference.

Thats a surprise i was told by MB that the sport kit didn't alter the power output at all. I have the same car and was wondering the same my self.

320 or even a 350 V6 petrol doesn't compare to the power of a 320CDi or a 350CDi, the CDi's are so much more powerful and great to drive, you have so much power down low.

I had a remaped W211 320CDi with 367bhp and 550nm torque and that use to easily keep up with M3's S4's etc, I reckon it was just as fast as a standard C43 AMG but with 40+mpg but minus the V8 sound track, lol.

Get your car on the dyno and find out!

Mines a D6 box on it but no where near that, quick though
