Remote Garage Door Opening

We have just replaced our two garage doors and the remote door opening on the car now needs re-programming. It was a devil to program the first time round and now I'm stuck

I have cleared the mirror remote memory by holding in buttons 1 and 3.

The red light now flashes when I press the button (as per instructions)
I hold button 1 down whilst pointing the remote at the sensor (keeping button 1 depressed) zilch, nothing. I have tried both remotes with sensors 1 & 3. The doors are Garador, I have contacted the garage door manufacturer, they confirm their product is supported by Mercedes, so this leaves one thing.

Operator error

Any contructive advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi John, no advice I am afraid. I reckon you have the most heavily spec'ed MB in the country - I would be surprised if anyone else even has that feature (my garage remote just rattles around in the ashtray)

Thanks to Philip, Stratman and 1998K, I am making progress. My dealership gave me a freephone number for technical support, but their number was wrong. The instructions supplied by prprandall have been brilliant as has those by Stratman, plus these last instructions had the correct freephone that I can contact

Anger, anger.... After days of struggling, trying to get the wretched thing to work I have found out the remote opening will only work with a 2007 E-class?? evidently it's all to do with frequencies. The frequency on our car remote opening gadget is 40 mhz thingies, whereas the 2007 E-class, along with the new doors are 868 thingie-ma-jigs. It looks like the cheapest option might be to employ someone to open and close the door or maybe buy a special adapter that is made to convert the frequency. Cost of 49 euro

Had same problem with my new roller door. Eventually fitted reciever adapter supplied by the same people that adapt the mirrors. Will try to find tel No 4u
