Hi ,
Decided to purchase a second hand boot & get it reprayed after failing to get mercedes to do it under ther goodwill warranty procedure. However the company i used for respraying managed to damage the star boot badge when removing it.
Does anyone have any idea how to remove my existing Star Badge that would allow me to refit it onto the re-sprayed boot. It's attached by 3 pins, but can't see any easy way of removing it.

You need to lever it off, the three pins just slide into nylon bushes and the new boot badge will just push into place. Just use a flat bladed screw driver to get behind the center of the star and work around it to prise it off. Keep a cloth between the screwdriver and the bodywork to protect it. (not as important while you're getting it resprayed I suppose!)

Edit, I have a boot badge here BNIB, let me know if you need a new one.

Cheers Gaz,
I'll try & fit the boot over the next few days.

If i need a replacement badge I'll let you know

Best Regards

BDE1V.

NB: your paintwork looks good , is it from new or have you had it done under warranty?

I've only had the car since February so I'm not sure. There is some evidence that the car has had a bit of paint and it probably was done under warranty as it is near the back arch on the passenger side. Though I need to rub the arches down again soon and sort them out as they are bubbling a little bit on the inner lip.
