Renntech C124 3.6

That is a gorgeous car! I remember seeing it for sale a few years ago with it's creator.

However, the seller is using the complete description from the ebay advert way back then, just with mileage adjusted.

Also it doesn't mention when the work was undertaken. IIRC, it was when the car had a mileage of mid-90,000s.

Starting at $7,500 is a bargin!

That looks very nice, especially the steering wheel :)

Wow, what a piece.

Baby brother to Renntech's w124 600E....they did one in Pearl blue which was a converted 500E with a 6.2 litre engine and 6 speed manual and simply stunning..

This one is drop-dead gorgeous !

Darren - how much did it sell for back at last pitch ?

thanks

Do we know what the output figures are on that Renntech motor?

I'm fairly certain it was the high $20ks. IIRC, the conversion price was north of $50,000 according to the original advert.
The original owner went on various websites under a nickname of "Harris"

And the Blue Renntech 600E you speak of, was it the one for sale at Hatch & Sons last year? That appeared to be a lovely machine and must have been one hell of a beast!

How's your Renntech project progressing, by the way?

ETA:
After a little Google'ing, I've just found this website from 2004, when the car was originally for sale:

Yep, that's the one at Hatch & Sons. THE best looking 500E ever. Shame it's sold, i was hoping to buy that one day !

The Renntech M119 block 6.3 engine was fully completed and flow tested at 550bhp ! attached is piccie of me standing next to it !

I just need to get it shipped over from Cali, something i have not found time to do since March 2009 !!!

Once it's over, straight install and then fit a RRFPR and Wideband O2 sensor install to tune to extract that 550bhp !

I even got the Renntech 500e front and rear anti-roll bars and Air filter housing (which is reputed to release some 7 bhp ...don't rate it at that personally but it looks good !)

thanks

Sorry to hijack the thread, just a question talbir, do you sell on the 5.0 L motor you replace the Renntech motor with?

Just curious :thumb:

I think he`s shipped his engine there to be bored

Could do, it would be a spare engine.

The 6.3 litre engine has been created using an original Renntech 6.3 block....it was a bare block, so i had to source all the items that would work with the 6.3 displacement, i.e. pistons, crank etc.

The Heads were taken from a donor w140 5.0 M119 and worked on by one of the leading US race technicians...how much power an engine creates is totally dicatated by the ability of the Heads to flow.

What a good looking beast....and the engines not bad either:D

I can`t believe no one has bid

Hugely surprising it ended with nil bids !

All the parts are worth more than the starting bid.

cheers
