I tried removing the ABS warning light from the dash to pass the MOT but the guy spotted it and so it had to be fixed. I found that the ABS ring was split. I got a new one from UK Parts Direct. It was £20 but I couldn't find the part anywhere else.

It's quite easy to release the bolt holding the drive shaft (even on mine where it was very rusty). There is an outer ring on the bolt that has a catch on it to stop it unscrewing. You just need a screwdriver to lever out the catch then you can unscrew the bolt using a 12-point socket.

You need a male torx tool to release the top attachment of the bearing assembly. I removed the two bolts shown, which allowed me to pull the assembly so it swings downwards and then I knocked the drive shaft through so it comes out the back. Then I could put on the new ABS ring. (You have to file off all the rust first then hammer it on)
