Hello All, As you may have noticed i am a total novice, but PLEASE if some one can HELP i have a E220cdi on 02reg, the drive belt or alternator belt which goes round the different pulley's broke off maybe it was old i don't know, but i only found out because of a thread on here, otherwise wouldn't have a clue what happened. Would like to put a new 1 on, if there is any1 who can instruct with diagrams or pics & tools required, i would be grateful. Thank You All in advance. :dk::confused:.

Hi
It was my thread last week where i asked for a diagram ans another member kindly gave the link.

If you can find that then one of the replies will have it for you, sorry i dont know how to add the link myself.

be aware, I too thought it was old age of the belt that caused it to break and after fitting a new one which also broke within 5 minutes i had to buy a second replacement.

To avoid the same mistake I made and save yourself having to buy two new belts check the pulleys before fitting. My guide pulley the bearings had gone and one groove had come apart causing it to rip the belts apart.

The pulley itself was not expensive, German and Sweedish stock them for only £20 and are simple to change with a t50 male tork socket.

Takes 5 minutes to change the pulley and 5 minutes to change the belt.

hope this helps

Chris

Thanks for your help Surreychris my friend put it on for me took him 5mins, its alright if you know how i suppose. Thank you once again for taking the time to reply & offer your help. Much appreciated.

If you still need it i have auto data which shows you the routing for these serpentine belts. If you have the diagram its an easy job. Not so easy when you dont know what goes where. If you want i can take a pic and send it to you or try to post the pic on here. not too great with computers but can give it a go. if you want to let me know. Will need to know if the car has aircon tho.Hope this helps.

Sorry about the delay in replying, (racboy) and Thank You for offering to help but it's done now, so i don't really want to waste your time. Thank You again.
