Respray in a low cost country?

I'm considering a respray for my W210 as it's riddled with rust spots. With most of the expense being the manual labour to prepare and only a small amount of the cost being for materials, I suspect the cost of a re-spray would be much lower in somewhere like Poland.

Has anyone tried this? Any success or horror stories? Is this common practise? I would have no hesitation in taking a 1000 mile drive across Europe to leave my car there for a few weeks while they did their work - it would make a couple of interesting "long weekends".

I'd be interested to read any comments or warnings!!

I've just read with interest - and I'll try and contact that place for a quote somehow. All I need now is a translator....

My partner has friends in Poland, so I'll ask them if they know of anywhere local to them - with the benefit that they could keep track of progress and help with native language... but failing that, I'll consider this guy in Slovenia.

Thanks! By the way - did anyone else follow Spike's lead? Any good experiences?

Have you thought about Spain? At a proper Merc dealer in Granada the labour rate is 41 Euros + VAT per hour and I for one am leaving my paintwork repairs until my next visit.
