Retro fitting D27 & D24 sunroofs in a vito

The switch does not one touch open, I will see if reman can fix it.

So you have a rear?

No no rear headlining that will be needed in the future, start with the front as it needs to be changed anyways as no hole for the roof LoL and has some previous damage from the last owner .

Nick

Then just look on epc at your head lining and add D27 in the coding, add also the sun visors code, not sure what that was.

Oh yes , good thinking, can add the visor lights cut out in readiness .or do you reckon they would be overkill with the ones in the centre light aswell .

Trying to find the plug to fit my mirrors as they use the indicators from the w204 range .The pics for all of them do not show the connector. Not even a clue on the plug , its blank . Got to be made by someone LoL

Nick

So you have half a plug and want the other half?
I google the part number you have get, an eye loop to see the tiny numbers.
All vianos have the sun visors.
I have them going in mine.

I am struggling with the interior lights, front control panel working fine, I have killed the rear lights with coding the control panel.
3 wires to each light red, red white trace and brown, all easy enough you think!
Where do you go back to ?
The canbus knows when a door is open as the front control lights up so I need a diagram as where to take the rears to.

Arent the rear lights part of your harness wiring. ?? Maybe have to run them back to the SAM but i cant believe you would have to go to that extreme .

Yes the indicator LED has a plug on it will have a close look at it tomorrow, but pretty sure it is blank .

If the plug is mb it will have a number.

The harness has a plug with red and white trace and there is a random red wire fused in the harness.
The sam is full, there is one plug the same shape and I have swapped it and nothing, I have not powered the red in fear of killing the sam.

New over head control PC board fitted and both roofs now normalised and open and close one touch all good there, BUT you cannot open the rear roof from the front, the button does not work, cluster knows the roof is open both front and rear but the button?
Only tried on developer so will now wait until I go back to MB to get the D24 scn code dropped in.

All the lights and the overhead control panel all working fine.

I have a new mirror fitted on the new screen now but not sure I can keep it there with no rear window, its all you can do to fill the space between the rain sensor cover and the cable cover, in a new vito they pull the mirror off the ball socket!
Such a massive improvement, I could not do without the front roof now, I love the way the HH4 Thermotronic keeps the cab warm even when the roof is open.
Two musts if buying new, HH4 and D27 and D24 but the cost must be massive.
Next job is face lift the front end, just lights missing now and will post pictures on how that goes.

Nice one Ian, So are you going the whole hog on the headlights and going for Bi Xenon with the LED DRL ??? or just Halogen with the normal DRL.

There is a guy in germany selling the harnesses for the headlight conversion, he said you use those to convert from halogen old style to bi xenon new style. But you need a new front SAM aswell in order for them to work right. Looking on EPC there is also a harnes going down the middle floor of the van and then dissapears under the van for what i pressume are sensors of some kind for the cornering function??
Emailed Richard at Command online as the seller has supplied him with conversion kits in the past apparently he reckons £2000 in labour plus parts :eek:

secondhand and DIY is the way forward methinks , with a bit of help from your friends .

keep up the good work

Nick

Hi, Nick

H7 mate forget the xenons, and no way bi xenons, it never worth the ball ache, the new lights are much nicer anyway and fit nice bulbs.
I should have the wings and bumper in primer for the weekend ready to colour.

Having spent weeks looking for both sunroof's at the right price for the Viano I have them.
Rear is in and working and front will be done next week when its delivered.
I so missed these having had them in the 120.

Outstanding. Must make a big difference inside the cabin. Do you lose much headroom/

This is the rear roof, I went up to Manchester to pick it up.

No you don't lose any head room at all, its the light you gain.

The Viano is all black inside and it was dark, the rear roof made it so much better.
Mega job to fit as everything had to come out, I have rear aircon so all the trim and ducts have to come out.
Fitting the factory drains is not easy in a fully fitted van, but I did it.
Just looking for the pictures.
