While I was in an MB shop for used spare parts, the shop owner gave me 4 lights for the 4 doors of my W124 sedan to install them,he told me the wiring is there ready for these lights.
I know the wiring was not there.
I decided to retrofit the drivers courtesy door light only as a start.

After searching,I found some help on the service manual CDs of W124 (I attached the file in this thread). In the drivers foot well I found behind the left leg rest area the option box,I connected the terminals 1,3 (of the option box as the pdf file shows on page 2) to the terminals of the courtesy light, and they lit :bannana:,but when I pushed the door button to switch off the courtesy lights, they didn't switch off :(.
(I noticed that dome light took 5 secs (delay) before switching off,but the courtesy light still lighting!!!!!
do I have to connect one of the courtesy light terminals to the button?
is the courtesy light related to the dome light? I mean if I switch off the dome light will this switch off the courtesy light?
Does the courtesy light have a delay time as the dome light?
Pardon my Questions but never had a car with courtesy lights before.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi! you need to get a live from that terminal, pin no1( live all the time). then you need ground from the door switch for light in that door, you'll know what I mean when you take the switch out. then the light will light only when you open the door.
