Retrofitting electric factory sun blinder

Hi,
I don,t believe the shelf cut out is any different for the BOSE speaker.
The 3rd brake light was only fitted to the face lift cars, and the red flags were only fitted to the face lifted cars with the folding rear seat option, as the shelf also fits pre face lift versions MB don,t cut the holes.
What colour is your interior? and your shelf?
The shelf in both my cars appearred to be blue in colour, the new shelf came from MB ordered from my interior colour code and it was black, and i believe with the available interior colours of the C43, your shelfs original colour would also of been black, it fades to blue in the sun.
I,m afraid you won,t have any option other than cutting holes in what ever you decide to do, unless of course you manage to get a 2nd hand shelf to the same spec as your car (speaker holes, red flags, 3rd brake light an of course blind).

Hello my C43 brotha.
Yup, my interior is black and so is the shelf.
I found a used electric blinder from a butchered C43 but seller didn't have the parcel shelf!
Therefore it would have been easier to get it readymade and just swap the parts instead of cutting the shelf!
Well, I guess have to go on a scavenger hunt for slaughtered C-class cars.

Doesn't blinders from a 124 or a 210 fit our cars?
Aren't these blinders the same size?

Thanks

will electric sunblinders from 203 or 204 fit our 202 cars?

Sadly not directly but maybe with some modification :dk:

I found some parts numbers from an S-class 140 type.
Parts number for this electric blinder is: A 140 810 00 20

For C-class 202 it is: A 202 810 00 20

Only difference is the first 3 digits!
The S-class 140 is wider and bigger and then MAYBE got a bigger/wider blinder?

Any pics?

I haven't seen any retrofits and I am keen to have a visual guide on how to do this. My pre facelift w202 is sat outside now. Unsurprisingly I'm find my self getting closer to it and popping the boot open to have a look.

I found these 2 pics on internet.
These blinders are for S-class 140 type

About instructions for this retrofit it's a biage to get it in the car!

Just seen the pictures properly. Thank you. I simply moved from office couch to the desk lol.

I hope I manage to find one on the net. If not then I suppose I'll have to record my efforts, then post here.

(Shame I'm only a temp. I'm going to miss it here.)

there are several blinders on internet but for 202 they are rare, it's easier and more to find for 210, 215, 220 Benzitos

I know. I have been lucky to come across a few, but I never thought of buying the parts and storing them till I can fit it.

I suppose I could just start searching for the parts but I don't want to ruin anything by doing it myself. Knowing my luck I'll end up seriously damaging something.

What is a good price for the blind?

there are used blinders from 100 euros and up!
checking junkyards for these parts might give positive results on such scavenger hunt!

I might buy new... I know there is someone on the forum selling a nearly new one for £200. I wonder if that is a good price.

I asked for new ones at the stealership and they were out of stock!
If you can get one in good shape for about 200 quids then its an ok price maybe you can negotiate?
But you have to cut your parcel shelf!

I was thinking of building up a parts bin first. Once I got on the parts get down to doing it.

Hi,
The rear electric blind is still available from MB but at £1000 +, i don,t think they sell many.
I paid £150 for my C43 blind still in its MB box.
For my C230K i paid £120 IIRC with the correct parcel shelf, switch and loom though the loom could,nt be removed in one piece due to the damage on the donor car, so i cut the switch and blind plugs off with as much cable as possible.

Hey bud my C43 brotha!
Where did you get this blinder for 150 quid still in a mb box?
Did you buy it new or used from a salvage yard?

Hi,
I bought it from a fellow member on here about a year 18 months ago, the other one was bought from e-bay, a guy was breaking a C36 AMG with "B" piller damage.

Oh, you lucky dude, finding these parts!
These parts are rare to find for 202 but easier to find for 210 or other cars!

So now you have a fully loaded C43?
You know with all the gadgets in your car, it will slow down your AMG with alot of seconds from stand still!
If you wanna part out the blinder and the parcel shelf lemme know!:D
I bet your car will increase the stand still take off by 1 sec?:p
