Returning From The Dark Side

Welcome back, and obviously a nice car to come back with ;)

Get rid of that badge and it will look the business!

Welcome back. Your car looks really nice, good find.

Post some more pics.

Hi guys, yes it is a lovely car, you can feel the difference between the pre and post facelift cars, having had 2 early C Classes this seems to be a bit more solid (?) and the seats seem more supportive and enveloping. The black leather is lovely, after having grey and the carbon fibre trim is always nice. Looks very smart. The ride is surprisingly smooth for 19" wheels on 235/35's so not in a hurry to change them, if at all.

Not sure what "extras" it has, maybe I'll use the VIN checker and have a look. I know it has cruise control which I've not had before and on the way home yesterday I accidently put it on a few times and it was a strange sensation. I had let off the accelerator and the car was driving itself! :D Air con, 4 x elec windows one touch up and down is useful, 2 new style keys (but they don't look like keys!) which are kind of funky. Boot pop open button which is handy! Ummm...dunno what else....!:)

Been busy after work and the weather has not given me sufficient opportunity to take nice pics.....will try tomorrow! :D

Nice one Gina, remember seeing this one on ebay a few days back, needed some tidying up on the inside if I recall but otherwise a nice car.

The inside in the pics did look grubby but acually nothing wrong with it! Yes the leather need a good ol' polish but that's it! :) very pleased with it.

Use some Meguires Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner for that leather interior and it will come out great.

You know it makes sense

Now, to get rid of that AMG badge all you need is some dental floss, a hairdryer and a rag with some polish...

Still not had a chance to clean it, maybe tomorrow? Did however take a couple quick snaps in daylight. Once I get good ones I shall make a thread in the Gallery Section;

Has got air con too, plus it has the nice avantgarde grill already fitted! :)

Ps, does anyone know if any ever had heated leather?

Car's looking good there, agree about the AMG badge removal though.

Ps, does anyone know if any ever had heated leather?

Yep the option was available but never as standard apart from on a C43 AMG.

I see, thanks. Just never seen or heard of one having it! Not bothered though as the seats aren't that cold, not like my Z3 ones were, these are lush! :D

Wow you had a lot of snow there .............:D

Do those wheels rub much? Didnt realise they were 19's.

Nope not much at all, less than my 18's I had on my previous merc! Although do if you go over a speed hump rather energetically! :D But normal driving is absolutely fine, and the ride isn't harsh at all surprisingly.

The lip spoiler doesnt look too bad either, subtle tints... the 19's really set it off too... very nice Gina

What size are the tyres.?

iirc, standard are 195/60-15 aren't they.?

Can't remember, that sounds familiar though.... or were they 185/50?

Tyres on this are 235/35/19

Ha ha..just found a note. 205/60-15, which gives a RC of 1969mm

235/35-19 = 2030mm which is a 3% uplift. Be careful with the speedo.

235/30-19 gives 1957mm which is damn close at 99.3% and would probably stop any rubbing.

but might shake your teeth out...

So you mean the speedo will be showing less than my actual speed?

Check it with a TomTom or Origin or similar and see how much it's out.. I had 19's on my S Type and it read 8mph over....
