Reversing camera problem

Hi. I noticed a problem with the reversing camera 1 month ago. Previous to the problem I would obtain a FULL SCREEN IMAGE on the screen. Overnight and due to an unknown reason I noticed an uneveven white line on the bottom of the screen. Initially I thought this was a screen problem but the white line is part of the bumper.
I took this to my local mercedes garage who after 1 week of tests and trying another camera unit have told me that this is normal and even showed me on another C63 amg model which seemed to have the same issue.

As far as I am aware this image is not normal, hinders the picture and if it is not corrected I feel will devalue the car if a sale should be sought in the future.

Has someone else got a reversing camera on their car? Do they have this issue, or do they get a full screen picture? Can anyone post a picture?

If not then any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I enclose a picture I took in the night of the screen during reversing.

From your description it sounds as though the angle of the lens has been changed, so that it's now pointing further downwards than before (and thus showing part of the bumper). Is that possible?

I think you maybe right. I dont know how though! But surely it IS a defect and is not normal. It spoils the image for me.

I was wondering whether the lens could have been knocked accidentally, perhaps when cleaning the car or something similar. It clearly shouldn't move of its own accord.

Have you tried gently cleaning the camera lens? Mine has been getting foggy recently with all the road muck etc!

Although you'd think the dealer would have tried that though?

mind moves after i have cleaned the car. Tends to point downwards a bit more and captures more of number plate. I just 'press'/move it and it goes back to normal

Sorry, rubbish reply as was half asleep. Meant can get a bit of movement in the plastic housing
