Roof wont open on CLK w209

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, I've searched the forums and I can't see any answers to my problem.

I've got a 53 plate CLK convertible and although I've had a couple of issues with it stoping mid open/close before a few times, it now won't open at all!

I think I know the problem but don't know how to fix it.

Symptoms;
Windows lower fine I can then hear the rear hydraulics start to 'try' to work. I can see the left side of the roof try & lift, after a few seconds it stops.

Now, I think the issue is the metal latch. This is where the problem has been before. One part of the latch doesn't pop up when the roof is down.

I am assuming the latch is not releasing/sticking thus not allowing it to open.

I've reset the windows & rear head rests/roll bars by the way.

Please help! Typical it would happen on the hottest weekend this year!

It sounds like the metal latch to me too-the panel slides back and this releases the two locating points from the latches.
May be worth giving it a little manual assistance to see if it works enough to take a look.
