Now do not be unkind. It will pollute the river.

Have a browse here. There is a forum and they should point you in the direction of other suff... er, owners.

LOL - yes I did laugh too but when a young couple have just got married and bought a new home and cash is short and they DONT want help from Dad, they want to learn to manage themselves then the least I could do is help them keep what is a good little runner for driving 2 miles to and from work.

Thanks anyway :p

If there is a carburettor problem, why not use this opportunity to give it a viking burial.....

lash together several bales of hay,
drive the car onto the hay,
set fire to hay,
toast marshmallows !!

you will be the only guy with a Metro BBQ this summer !!

If memory serves me right, the carb is an SU, it is very simple with an oil damped metering needle. If you are having problems with hesitation it may need the oil topping up in the dashpot,.

If you take the air filter off you will see a black screw top on the carb, open this, withdraw the plunger and fill the cylinder up with clean engine oil. Replace the plunger and the air filter.

If this doesn't work, let me know the symptoms or try, http://forum.parkers.co.uk/default.asp
