My car has the run flat system fitted.

Should the run flat warning lamp in the dash display illuminate briefly when I first turn the ignition on as a confirmation that the bulb is working?

Not sure what system you have on your E Class, but my B Class will only show when the pressure drops. Mine does not have special tyre valves fitted, apparently it works off the suspension

Benzowner is correct but I thought it worked off abs (or speed sensors) as tyre is slightly smaller diameter when low on air. Mine doesn't light up either. Sure it's only when very low which thank goodness hasn't happened.

Oh and mines not run flat. It just warns of a leak.
