Rusty tube connected to the exhaust

Hi folks, I bought a 2013 c180 recently and found that a tube connected to the exhaust is all rusty (top left in the pic below) - can anyone advice what does that tube do and whether I should be repairing/ changing it? Occasionally the exhaust pipe has some bubbling noise when the car just started or backing up slowly - is that related? I am totally new to cars, so sorry if it is a dumb question..!

It looks like the exhaust mounting bracket/rod that fits into the rubber mount that the exhaust hangs from. I wouldn't worry as it would have to be very rusty to fail

Agree with exhaust hanger bracket. These are pretty thick steel so I would ignore and relax.

OP as above, just ignore it...or post it on the 'detailing' section of this forum some OCD member will tell you the correct colour to paint it and where to get the paint from.
