Does anyone know if Night View Assist and Reversing Camera can be retrofitted to a 2009 S320. It has COMAND fitted as standard but would anything else need to be installed.

For nightview assist you would need a new windscreen, the camera plus the panelling for it, new headlights (with IR emitters), nightview control unit and all related wiring, plus everything I forgot to mention.
Reversing camera on a 2009 model would be reasonably simple, it does not need the additional control unit that was used by early models.
For both you would need some solution for coding these present.
I'm sure almost anything can be done, but most retrofits cost far more than ticking the box when ordering a new car.
I enquired about a reversing camera on my ML and the cost was going to be almost 3 times the £300 odd of the option price.
My S class has the reversing camera which is useful but not a necessity.
I did try a demonstrator with nightview, but was not that impressed. Unlike whilst reversing, I found the display something of a distraction rather than a help when driving forward at night, but that might just be me!

I understand that, although not initially available on model release, this will become available on new E-class, so was wondering how useful it is & whether worth waiting for?
Guess it will be a similar priced option to the £1311 of the S class
Thanks for the comments. I gave up on the Night Assist as it was going to be hugely expensive. For the reversing camear my local dealer quoted approx £1650.00 so that will be another no no.
