S 350 BlueTech L AMG Sport Edition ( sold), Audi A8 Black edition
Decided that now would be a good time to buy a W221 - New model round the corner and some big dealer deposit contributions

Taken the plunge and ordered the run out model S 350 BlueTEC L AMG Sport Edition in Iridium Silver

Standard LWB car but with AMG Sports package, 20" wheels, Keyless Go, Harmon Kardon Front Entertainment System, Panoramic Sunroof, Reversing camera and Illuminated door sills.

Counting the days to delivery in about 5 weeks

Fantastic !!!

They are truly magnificent vehicles. I enjoyed the 40k miles I travelled in my W220.

Congratulations. 5 weeks is a quick turnaround, hope you got a good discount. I bet your really looking forward to the summer now!

Good choice sir! Nice spec, some nice options there. The Harmon Kardon system is a lot richer in sound than the standard stereo. Can't wait to see some pics once you have it.

OTR full price is £69,999 - but I did get discount

Collection date set for 25th April so just a couple of weeks to wait!!

Getting insurance cover is proving interesting - comparison sites aren't coming up with anything much - ( one quote was for over £10,000 per year ) Mercedes can do just over £800 per year, which is more expensive than my current insurer, but current insureres of my E350 are insisting I fit a tracker , the cost of which will negate the saving.. Got a couple of brokers looking - but they are having to refer to the underwriters as the car isn't showing on all the databases.

Going to sign final paperwork next week so hope to get to see it at the Dealers - will try and get some pics whlst I'm there.

Fitting a tracking gadget was the only way that I could get my premium at what I'd call reasonable amount. I'm 22 and every other company wanted over £1,800 but with Admiral fitting the unit to monitor my driving, I'm now paying under £800. I'd recommend it.

Try aviva, i was told by most i needed a tracker on mine. Aviva didn't and were cheaper than most.

Only another week before collection .

If your current insurance with a tracker matches the other quote, I'd go with the tracker, as that's for 3 years, which means your insurance will be cheaper for 3 years, making it cheaper overall.

Tracker locate is awesome too, logging onto the Internet wherever you are and seeing your car on a map is very reassuring, especially when you are away. Shows all of your journeys too, how much they cost you, average speed, miles per month etc. it's really a good piece of kit.

What exactly is the AMG sports package?
Front bumper and side skirts I guess?

Very nice Peter, will keep an eye out around derby for you!!
