s211 (53) New 2nd Key??

Hi im going on holiday soon and i want to get a second remote key/fob for my s211.

Ive read somewhere that if i order a new key the old key get deleted!

Is this the case?

My current fob is working id just like a spare in case i loose or damage it.

Do i need to buy 2 keys? or can i just get a second key?

Any help much apreciated

Your current key can only be blocked if the car is connected to a star machine.
Despite some rumours, keys can be unblocked by using a star machine and a workshop "green" key.

You can order a second key from the dealer for £230 inc. VAT which will come pre programmed and will not need the car to be connected to star.

You will need the V5 and proof of ID (Passport / Drivers Licence) and possibly a Utility Bill (proof of address) when ordering. Takes about 5 - 8 working days to arrive at dealers. Comes complete with a new metal key.

In the past they have taken this sort of time, last one I ordered on Thursday and collected on Tuesday after the last bank holiday Monday. Was very surprised.

Mine took 2 days as above MB want to physically see the car and photo the VIN also my key arrived in 2 days.

I now have 3 keys two older style black keys and one latest style, the key with blade was £253.00 inc vat.
