S211 Tailgate Struts part numbers please?

[SL300-24]

I wonder if someone can help me with the part numbers for the tailgate struts both nearside and offside as I believe they are different for my 2007 model E320 CDI please?

It is a manual tailgate

The Reg number is W2 KER maybe @BlackC55 could help?

Am just having mine done as well that was the price and part numbers the dealer gave me- different part for each side I thought was odd but there you go.

Oddly they only charged for the parts and no labour, clearly can’t be a difficult job and one which you could probably DIY.

The electric tailgate ones are different I believe.

Also do you know which one is drivers side and which is passenger side please?

Yes manual, I’m having them replaced in February at a good local independent. I would probably try it myself if I had someone to lend a hand.

wrong time of day but aren’t these usually £25 - £50 apiece and usually made by Febi Bilstein or Stabilus?

If you take your reg to your local Euro Car Parts or outlets like “struts direct” they’ll give you the correct price

(Long time Estate car addict: I must have replaced half a dozen sets of s211 / S212 /E91 / E61 struts over the last three decades. A very straightforward idiot proof job)

[FONT=&quot]I replaced my lazy S211 tailgate struts today. Here are a few notes which might help you if you are considering the job yourself. It took me about an hour to do the first side and 15 minutes to do the next side as by then I knew what I was doing.

I got the new ones from ebay, listed as Febi Bilstein 32045 and 32046 for about £50 each which is less than half the main dealer price. They turned out to be identical to the original and once I opened the packaging I found they were labelled Stabilus just like the originals. You might want to also buy some spare expanding plastic trim rivets...
