S211 water in tailgate

Hi.

After last few days heavy rain , I opened the tailgate and to my horror water was pouring out of it , it was coming from between the black covering and the tailgate frame.

Anyone knows the potential causes? Car is W211 estate 2003.

After last few days heavy rain , I opened the tailgate and to my horror water was pouring out of it , it was coming from between the black covering and the tailgate frame.

Anyone knows the potential causes? Car is W211 estate 2003.

There are plenty of channels. Especially the ones around the tail lights. That's all I know. Try the dealership for the tracing.

Third brake light or from around the rear wiper arm. Are the seals around and especially above in good condition.

Originally they are studs that the number plate screws into

Thought must be something holding it from inside
