S500L - what do you reckon? worth a punt?

Salvage repaired?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOh, watch out Silver!!

I wouldnt be that concerend about the acc repair, just remember there will be things that will go wrong in the future to do with the repair, ie water leaks wiring faults etc.

I had an cat d disco and it was a good car but the things that went wrong:eek: some normal landrover stuff but a few of the probs were as a direct result of the acc repair, mainly water leaks that took forever to find.

Still was essentially a good car for the 2 years i owned it.

If your eyes are wide open it wont be a problem.

Thing that would put me off any s class the most would be the air susp.

if it goes mega cheap then it has to be worth it....

Somehow I have a feeling of negativity about the seller, I can't remember why, we moved away from the north-east eight years ago.
It needs to be mega cheap really as its already done 100k, and in my opinion they are just not built as well as their predecessors.

The comment about air suspension is a point, but its the hydraulic not the air system that will crucify you in costs. ADS or ABC ? I forget

If you really like the car & you have the wonga then buy it.

It's not ideal that it has been damaged & repaired, but as least he has included this in the listing & not trying to hide it... seems to be just another regular joe who spins cars for money.

If in the future something did go wrong, I'm sure some dude on here could help.

Interesting that there are no close up pics of the repaired area, in particular the shut lines of the boot and rear wing. I certainly wouldn't but an accident repaired car without a thorough close up inspection.

I would be checking the tyre wear closely too, making sure it drives straight, ideally get someone you know to follow to see if its crabbing.

Still has four matching alloys which suggests the shunt didn't damage one of them which is a plus.

Finish around the jacking point on the rear doesn't look quite right and the wing seems lighter than the doors but that could just be the sun.

I think these are the facelift rear light clusters which suggests one of them needed doing.

I probably wont be bidding - £3k is about max i would want to pay on it considering its damage-repaired. Its an early car so probably can pick up another one undamaged for less than £5k.

if the bids done rise much more though i may place a last minute bid.

Not sure on the susp front but looks like may have air and hydraulics, either way bloody dear!
Hazard a guess air front and rear with self levelling hyds on the rear with poss some sort of active roll control, did i mention dear.
