E320 CDI Estate 210 Elegance Facelift Yr 2000
Hi Guy's, First of all thank you for all the help and advice on our E 320 cdi estate 2000. Running lumpy and sounding like a hammer banging in nails,
The glow plugs were ok (Tip they can be tested with a meter take the leads of the top of each glow plug, put one wire to earth ie engine block put the other wire to the top of the glow plug if the meter shows a short the plug is ok.
We gave the diesel the millers treatment for two tank fulls of diesel fuel, it took a while but that did the trick, from now on we are going to use the redex treatment all the time now. :)

Can any one help me with a electrical problem? the SRS red light stay's on also the air bag warning light is on all the time (the last three day's) In the book it tells you that the front passenger air bag will not work, The SAS light in the book is airbag or the belt tensioners,(I have tried the belt tensioners by pulling them quick they seam all right they lock up ok)

Is there a sensor or something that can be changed? :( (we do not have a child seat) paul p

I am sure you will get more informed responses, but a likely culprit is a seat occupancy sensor, which will have failed. The car will not know in this circumstance if a seat is occupied or not. I have had a couple of cars on which this sensor has failed (BMW x 2 failures, 211). It causes the airbag light to come on.

Thank you for your help that sound's the likely problem the seat sencor,
as soon as we get a chance we will buy a sensor from a MB Garage and give that a go. Thank you

Can't help on the diagnosis but just for info the seat belt tensioners are not the same as the inertia lock.

The inertia lock just locks off the seat belt if it is pulled quickly (whether by tugging or crashing); the belt tensioner actually tightens the belts if there is an accident to take out any slack and hold you back in the seat.

Not that that helps you much with your problem - sorry!

Thank you, every bit of info helps
