I got the new C Class (W205), The Sat Nav is the Garmin SD based one supplied with the car. The 2 usb slots and one SD slot is inside the little storage box between the seats.
Sometimes when i start the engine , the sat nav shows - "No Memory Card Containing navigation Software Inserted." and it stays there. When it happens it fails to recognize USB media as well - I keep one USB stick plugged in all the times for mp3 and i dont use the other usb slot. I don't meddle with these slots always they remain as it is closed in the box.
It looks like something happens to the center console where almost it cannot read from the external devices - SD, USB etc The console actually not freezes as i can still listen to Radio or use Bluetooth music etc.
When this happens there is no way to get the Sat Nav or USB Working. I tried taking SD card out and put back in, turn center console off and on, turn engine off get out of the car and keep it locked for about 5 mins - but none has worked.
However when i keep the car locked more than a few hours it seems to resolve and everything turns back to normal after this laspse.
This is a brand new car and I have only used it for 2 months and so far about 5 times this has happened. Last time when it happened I took it to the dealers workshop but by the time technician became available (after about an hours wait) it was all back to normal, and technician said there is no fault. I had taken a photograph on phone and i showed it to him but i think he wasn't convinced. Now i have recorded a video while it happened last time- i am going to take it to the technician.
Anyone had similar experiences please?
This only happened so far when the center console starts up , when I start the car to start a journey, so far it never happened while I was driving the car.
