I don't exactly know which head unit I've got but it's in a 2005 car. I don't really use sat nav very often in a car but I tried it the other day and was disappointed to see it only seems to work in 2d. I've tried looking for a 3D option but can't find it so I'm guessing because it's pretty ancient it doesn't have it? I had a stand alone sat nav in 2005 that was 3D so the tech was available at the time. Not having full post code search is a bit crap too!

Welcome to the joys of MB satnav! My 2008 car with about £2k worth of Comand does not have 3D or 7 digit postcode - and an upgrade involves a new dashboard and stupid amounts of money!!

My cars have 3D but I always use the 2D mode. Why are you disappointed about a missing option that leaves a significant area of the screen useless (you should know where the sky is without looking at the screen).

I guess I'm just used to seeing the display in 3D which is the default for all sat navs I've ever used. I actually used the nav the other day to go somewhere I know but just wanted to try it and it's actually pretty good, especially the instructions in the display. I like the females voice, soothing! Not having full postcode search is one thing that's not good but it did give me a list of streets that fall into the shortened postcode so that's not a biggy. About the biggest problem though is the map stays facing north so if you're travelling anything but north you're travelling in the 'wrong' direction on the screen!

Ignore my last statement concerning map orientation! Just found I can change it to 2D heading up so I'm happy with it now [emoji4]
