Hi

Went to the car install shop today but they could not find a speed pulse for me, so i'm onto my nest plan for temporary Sat nav.

My bro has a Hp Jornada 525 PDA, I have found out that it should be able run Tom Tom 2 software, but probably not Tom Tom 3. I will be getting the GPS signal from a Road Angel...hope that bit works.

Does anyone know where I could obtain some Tom Tom software to test the PDA set up before I waste anymore time and money on this.

If all else fails then its guna be Tom Tom Go time, but dont really wana spend all that cash if he changes the car in a couple of months and the new one has Sat nav...which is most likely.

Might be able to help you with TomTom.

Your car must have ABS and as such probably does have a speed input somewhere between the ABS ECU and the engine ECU.

When I was looking, the clever guys on a German forum showed me the way.

Do a search on here for W210 speed pulse and hopefully that will find it for you.

Ian.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for that, decided that rather than mess with the electrics, (as i've heard a few horror stories of the ABS going wrong) we are guna try a pda set up for now as a temporary solution.

OK. :)

It was dead easy in my case, and the APS required two speed pulse connections (to both front wheels).

Ian.
