Sat Nv issues

Hello,

Can anybody assist?

I recently purchased a 2015 MB SLK250 D. The sat nav module was missing from the glove box so I purchased a second hand one online. It works great and I have colour! Only trouble is there is no sound. Is it because it’s an older module that didn’t have sound or does it need updating? Maybe a different problem altogether? There is no speaker icon on the bottom line of the screen next to the satellite icon and I have looked through the Becker Pilot instructions but it doesn’t cover sound directions other than giving them - which incidentally appears to be very hit and miss.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

It should have sound, have you tried pressing the volume button when you have a route set?

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, I have tried the volume button but to no avail.

Usually audio volume for navigation instructions can only be adjusted during navi announcements, active route guidance would not be enough. There should be a "button" to repeat the last navi announcement. Press that and immediately after tune up volume.

I know mine is COMAND, but you can only use the volume up or down when it is giving you an instruction.

Hello and thank you all for your suggestions. I got so fed up with the sat nav I decided to do a factory reset and hey presto…… sound! Why didn’t I think of doing that in the first place. Well it never occurred to me as the obvious often stares us right in the face!!!
