Can anyone tell me the size of the female torx socket I need to remove my front seats on a '99 C250TD please?

I want to order one and it seems most 'sets' come in a small or large size, and I think the move from small to large is around the half inch mark, so I could do with someone telling me so I get the right socket set.

Also, I am going to change my cabin filter as I seem to be getting reduced airflow. I have been quoted £20 by Partco, does that sound reasonable or can anyone supply a link to somewhere better?

Thanks in advance,

Neil.

I removed mine a few weeks ago to give the interior etc a good spring (summer ) clean. I was going to buy a torx set too but they didnt have one in stock at the local shop so I tried an ordinary socket to see how it went and it worked a treat, I think it was 7/16ths or thereabout . . .

Thanks for the speedy reply grasmere.

To be honest I had toyed with the idea of trying a normal socket, but bottled it when I started to imagine not being able to retighten the bolts enough and leaving the seats a bit iffy.

:P

I remember the old days, when if it couldn't be done with dad's mole grips, then it wasn't done!

:P

cheers,

Neil

Ahhh yes, remember those days well, still have loads to do, which reminds me, I need a new set of Mole Grips
:D

The cabin filter from MB is also about £20. Go for the original since there's no real price difference. And it does make a difference to interior air quality.

Thanks fellas, set bolts and filter sorted but another problem has reared its ugly head - see wheels section.

Thanks,

Neil
