SEC cabrio

I bet that handles like a jelly ...

I love SEC's but the convertibles never did it for me, they just looked wrong.

Dont like the wheels on it...

Ironically, the wheels will make up most of the value of the £999.

If they are genuine AMG 5 spokes, they'll be worth nearly that alone.

The whale is like a finely poised leopard waiting to pounce ;)

this wil probably make me sound stupid..... but did Mercedes make a factory SEC Cabrio..... is this not a conversion

For £999, it's not too bad.

As said, if the wheels are genuine, they'll be worth a fair chunk.

Then you've got 90% of a 560 SEC to break. Fortunes there in spares and valuable parts, then you've still got quite a few quid in scrap metal (unfortunately, not as much as normal, mind...)

Will

my thoughts too will.............from the initial link, i thought good buy for the same reasons

Never made at the factory, these are all aftermarket conversions.

The bodies flexed enough due to having no B post, this is what led to the failing seals around the rear window and the ingress of water into the boot......

But I'd have it no other way, the beaty of this car is the pillarless design, the convertibles just looked ugly to me.

I quite like it..... i would drive it as my everyday car......

Read the ad. carefully.

I think this car literally has no roof (i.e. it's not a convertible).

:bannana:

I did wonder where it was as it dowsnt look like it folds away... we would be ok in thsi country though without a roof.............. hardly ever rains:bannana:

This chap is a PistonHeads member, who has been to Le Mans for the last 2 years in W126 Mercedes.

He custom chopped the roof of both cars, so these are NOT professional conversions...."professional" meaning it hasn't been done by one the 80s big name tuners (Styling Garage, for instance).
Last year, he chopped the roof off a W126 saloon, and sold that dirt cheap after Le Mans.

So this car's all about a bit of fun, rather than a rare collectors car, or a serious run about :)

I'd still have it though
