Hello

I like that also like the 300kph speedo:D

Is that ok for the MOT? having no Mph?

No traction light..no probs you know when your giving it beans:bannana:

Nice mod

I thought there had to be an MPH reading to clear the MOT also....It's one of the required modifications to get an import through SVA's.

I had to do it to a Mx5 (eunos roadster) years ago.

Thats when I remebered the spoon method of getting the dials off..

Fog lamp also but I got a proper UK spec back valance..

Great car and had great fun in it it was quite modified :)

Speedo doesnt matter for MOT... perfectly ok to have it in KPH.. doesnt even need to be working!

the SVA is a different test and valid for cars less than 3 years old only.. this is only carried out once when a car is first imported...

That takes me back.. i used to leave home at 5am to get to dublin before the wednesday Jap import auction started... I HAD to buy a car otherwise couldnt get home... the dash to get on the ferry on time.. then actually staying awake to drive the 6 hours home from hollyhead... those were fun days..

i bought some really cool cars in those days, i was one of the first in the midlands to start importing the 200SX's, Skyline GTR's etc etc...
but then occasionally i would be driving home in a Nissan Micra too..

My father imported a Toyota Lucida and was advised that it needed a SVA because it was under 10 years old.

It was 9 years old and we had to pay for a SVA.

maybe they have changed the rules since i was doing it, but i used to avoid cars newer than 3 years just for the SVA as they can be very strict... and its a hassle to find an SVA station nearby!

You must have one fairly close.
Where do all the lorry and coach operators get their vehicles mot'd?
