Greetings, citizens.
As title, the SLK headed off to the dealers today for a bit of fettling. As it doesn't do a lot of miles, it's been 2 years since it saw the inside of a garage, but ASSYST was starting to INSYST so it was booked in. Not a lot required this time, interim service, brake fluid change and a filter or two.
Car was dropped off this morning and I was given a 13 reg C220 CDI estate as a loaner. Nice enough, I really only needed it to get to work and back (c. 50 mile round trip) so didn't get to test drive it much but it seemed a pleasant enough place to sit, reasonably punchy and rode well. As I had an estate for the day, it was also a good excuse to shift some packaging from our storage unit back to the main factory. Roomy - that wouldn't have worked with the SLK
Picked up my car this evening, all was good with no extra work needed, fresh MOT so I have nearly 13 months, and of course it had been washed and vac'd which was nice as it was looking a bit grubby when I dropped it off. The bad news came to £420 so not too painful, and I know all is good for the foreseeable future..
Cheers,
Gaz
