E250
Hello

I purchased a 2012 E250 last Aug, currently still in warranty till Aug 16. The car requires a B service and I was hoping to use a local specialist, who has always looked after my cars. German specialist.

Had a search of the forums and the warranty booked but wanted to check if it would impact my warranty having it serviced outside of the network?

Car will be serviced in the coming week whilst it's due into Mercedes mid March to get the roof seals replaced under warranty - I don't want them to refuse due to having it serviced elsewhere.

Thanks

Is it covered under a used car warranty? I don't know if the same rules apply as the new car warranty, where the car can be serviced anywhere (although you may have to prove the correct schedule and genuine parts were used etc).

Hello, it was purchased from the used MCR Mercedes and comes with an approved warranty. Thanks

Shouldn't affect warranty (if using genuine parts) but will end your MobiloLife!!

I've paid for my official Mercedes servicing by regular monthly installments. Result: no scary upfront costs. Yesterday, my car had its C Service: all I paid was £50 for its MOT and a new rear wiper.

I would advice that last service before the warranty expires should be done at a dealer....

Agree with markjay. Stick with the dealer until out of warranty. You might just need some goodwill later on.

Got mine initially on an approved used warranty, then when that expired took out the monthly plan, makes life so much easier and guarantees that all work is as per MB. At a previous service they identified the need for new front discs and pads, had these done by a local specialist using genuine parts. Hasn't affected my mobilo

Hi all,

Cost is considerably more via MB. B service with a local specialist (great rep, approved parts & have all the fancy digital equipment) is £260. MB, cheapest I can find, is £505.

I'm still undecided about the service plan. Monthly cost would be £55.50 over 24 months, total of £1332 (for 3 services)

Local specialist could cover all 3 services for £720.

I've had a couple of issues with my two local dealerships too. Car has been in 4 times for a leaky pano roof and twice for issues with Command. There's a knock under load too, which they can't hear yet I can.

If it were me then I would bite the bullet and have MB do its last service as this rules out any anomalies should you need to claim on the used car warranty scheme plus it will also provide you with another years breakdown cover with Mobilo.

I had to claim twice on the approved used warranty which would have cost me more than the £245 savings you will make going with an indy for its last service.

Kenny
