Hello all,

Does anyone know the price (approx) of a "B" service for my C240 or any 6 cylinder petrol?

I had a scan through the forum, but could only find outdated results - 2003?!

I'm debating whether to use my local stealership or the highly praised George Fraiser - A friends' 420 SE came back to him a new car! :bannana:
I would prefer to use GF, but it's dependent on cost and distance (and if I can get a booking for Saturday. Pushing for time I know).

Any advice would be greatful guys :D

Also, would a mod be able to set up a sub-forum for servicing cost for different models through the range and what they include etc? Might help some people such as myself out ;)

Cheers,
Alex

It will be highly dependant on mileage and age. New discs and pads, and new spark plugs is going to make a HUGE difference to the cost.

Parts cost alone for discs pads and plugs is £250-odd.

I had a B service in November, it was less than £300, but I had already done the above, so that isn't much of a guide unless yours don't need doing either.

The car was last serviced 10,000 miles ago. The pads were changed so hopefully they don't require much attention...

Just looked on GF's website again. Prices for a V6/V8 C Class start at £450 excluding brakes. You wouldn't know what an average start price for a stealer is?

At the stealership for a c230k it's about £150 for A service and £350 for B service. Add a few quid to both to cover the extra oil and you'll be close.

Just check with my stealer - Mercedes-Benz Eastbourne. They gave me an over-the-phone price of £460, which I though was pretty good, compaired to GF £450.

Do you think its worth the 140 mile round trip for a visit to GF, or shall I stick to my local and get a shiney new loan car for a few hours :)?

Ahhh, decisions decisions...
