Servicing Schedule on W169

Hi Guys,
I have had my 59 A Class 180 CDI for a couple of years now and I have a quick question about servicing.

The person who had it before had it serviced at Mercedes Benz, so when I got it it was in tip top condition. It had 45,000 on the clock.

Since then in the last 2 years I have managed to just past 90,000. I drive it at least 70 miles a day for work, as well as driving it down to Spain last year, and getting ready to drive it to Italy this year. I have taken it for 3 or 4 services to a local Merc garage (H&C Motors in Maidstone) when the clock tells me to. So far they seem to be straight up normal services, but I was wondering when the more major things need to be changed. Does anyone have a link to a servicing schedule so I know when stuff needs to be changed.

Thanks

Nick

The actual replacement schedule should be in the handbook, or service booklet.

Normally fuel / air filters are every 4 years, or specified mileage, possibly 75000. Not sure about the auxiliary drive belt on yours, but might be worth changing if not already done.

Antifreeze used to be 150000 miles or 15 years.

Other things are fairly generic, bushes, pads etc. If you want a big more done/checked, remove the undershields to check brake pipes for corrosion etc- I don't think that's even listed in the service schedule but should be a check as the car gets older.

Battery, original? Key batteries? They only normally seem to do one on services, talk about tight!

I don't think gearbox oil is even listed but it might be worth considering doing. To me, the service schedules seem to be geared to 'overall monthly running costs' when the cars are new, not preventative maintenance like they used to be.

It's due at 37,000 miles, so should've been done by MB / previous owner (unless they opted for the minimum service with no due extras)...

It was recommended here by our top chaps to do ATF change every 40k, that's certainly what I intend to do for my car - I just had done for the first time at 33,500 by Mercedes, as it's on a service plan.

Is that 37000 for the auto box? I didn't recall seeing a scheduled oil change for the manual box which I assumed the OP has. I don't have access to my service sheets at the moment so can't double check.

Yes, it is. I just assumed it's automatic (well, CVT)
