'00 W202 Classic Selection (or is it?)
As shown in Killerhertz's post in Member's Gallery on 10.5.08.

OEM parts only please. If used, must be in VGC.

Part# is: MB 66 89 0003 (Accessory code for set of 4).

(NB. 202 680 xx xx numbers are for the standard plastic parts).

Stealer price is anything but a steal  .

Relevant PM's welcomed. Thanks for any help!

Well, they seem to look better than the standard ones, mine have become quite scratched after 8 years and are not fitting as well as they should.
What are the problems with the chrome ones Malcolm?

Not really a help, but last Wednesday on my lunch break I had a look on eBay. Notice the set had a B.I.N., bought & paid for in less than a minute for the price of £17 :D :D :D

Bargin of the decade!

A set of OEM illuminated sills I was recently offered no longer seem to be available. Not my first choice anyway, so back on the trail of the non-illuminated set.
Finding it something of a mystery to track down the right parts  .

Various sources indicate that the set numbered MB 66 89 0003 (mentioned in my first post) consists only of steel plates that adhere to the original sill covers - whereas your eBay bargain ones actually replace the originals, I believe?

I assume you got the part numbers stated in your last Gallery posting from the parts you bought on eBay, not from the ones you replaced?
Front 202 680 07 35
Rear 202 680 03 35

Thanks

Yeah, I copied down what was on the back of the sills...

Thanks, thought so.

Photos show what my offside rear door sill looks like plus 2 of the underside of the flat sill cover (the one with the black stripe dividing the silver strips). The whole part number is not shown in one run, so I've taken a photo at each end.

The whole part number reads: 202 680 03 35 (followed by 'fj' if that is relevant).

I think that's the same part number as on your chrome rear sill covers - seems confusing to me...any ideas?

Thanks, but I've tried that already - checked web site and saw no stock, so went into my local ECP. The guy spent 10 minutes on a computer and then said they don't stock those parts anymore :( . Not sure what they would have been like anyway.

Continuing the hunt for these W202 chrome door sill covers / panels / rails / kick trims - they go by many different names.

As per posts above, the base part numbers are:
2026800735 (Front)
2026800335 (Rear)

Might be a very long shot this, but just wondering if anyone here is able to refer to an MB dealer invoice for the chrome ones as pictured (on KillerHertz's W202) - I'm trying to find out which 4 digit suffix follows the part numbers above.

Can't track down the correct suffix via dealers or anywhere else at present! (suffix does not appear on the part itself).

Cheers for any help :) .

I will contact the guy who sold them to me, hes stripping a C240 (which they came off).

I will ask him for the VIN number :)

Much appreciated Karl - Registration Number will be sufficient if it saves him some bother -I can check the VIN from that - and then I'll have to hope the sills were not fitted later. Have looked through photos of loads of W202s for sale on eBay and seen none with the chrome sills.

Thanks - I had seen this listing (after it ended) and contacted the seller without too much success.
I can't be sure, but I believe these are 'entrance strips' as distinct from door sill covers. An entrance strip being effectively a cover for the cover, i.e. it fits over the original sill cover. Although I do wonder how the electrics can be fitted in there too....
There is also Part #B66890003, which is the non-illuminated version, but again these are called Entrance strips. Those cost £162 from the stealers  and I read a forum post where someone said he could not believe it when they arrived and he found they were simply adhesive plates to cover the door sills he already had.
As well as being non-illuminated, KillerHertz's versions are true replacement parts. If only we could verify the number/s  .

He didn't reply I guess. I found a C240 Sport on eBay that looks like it has the MB chrome sills - dealer searched it for me but the part code for the door sills is standard black, same as mine.

I think the answer to the mystery may simply be that the sills you bought on eBay had the MB "entrance strips" applied to the original parts sometime in the past - this would explain why the parts have the standard numbers on the reverse. Does that seem feasible, from looking at your sills?

Anyone know if the W210 door sills fit the W202 ?

No, no reply as of yet :(

Most likely they were purchased via the accessory catalog from the stealers, but theres a chance it was an option when new.

W210 sills could fit, if you get a saw to them, they are slightly longer.
