Now I've had a proper look at them, I see they are a little bit old-school, kinda like 1960s muscle-car look! :)

Brill pics thanks! The bottom cars chrome is TOO much but I actually like the Red cars less shiny ones!!!

Those wheels aren't chrome anyway AFAIK, they're just oem polished with lacquer. Sadly they corrode under the lacquer, which is why Flyer got rid of his!

Still got them! Stuck in the garage, with nearly new F1s. Not quite sure what to do with them ...

lol, "got rid" meant "no longer on the car" ;) Surely you could make a coffee table or some kind of modern art out of them? :)

worst than a E-reg Ford escorts wheel trims IMO

They look similar to the E class wheels fitted to the W211 in classic trim. Each time I see one I think they look horrible, wheel trims would be better.

Sorry...

we have got a new set of W211 classic wheels with 225 tyres in the garage doing nothing :(

So basically I've got a choice of 3 sets Fuzzers, Flyers, or the local set with newMichelins on for "about" £80!

Worth £80 just for the tyres then ! You can put the wheels in the garage for a rainy day ;)

S.

The guy selling has confirmed the tyres have nearly 7mm tread! So I might get them and see what they look like, if I like them then a set of new wheels and bigger tyres is cool. If I dont like them then a set of tyres for that money would be daft.

BTW I've spoken to my MB man who said these wheels are the lightest wheels MB make and that they are often chosen in order to reduce unsprung weight when handling is the prime aim.

EDIT. BTW Fuzzer sadly the et for yours is 42 so presume they wont fit mine.

Thanks Shude, you are so good at that!!!!! :bannana:
Well I'm more convinced than ever that they WON'T look terrible. Shudes photo gets the proportion better than mine and the shiny but not Chrome looks better than my earlier attempt!

These wheels are very light and supposed to help handling. Anyone coming round to an OK or even a Hit yet?

THANKS AGAIN SHUDE!!!!!

Mate, you dont seem to be taking on board the responses. It looks terrible with those wheels. You will devalue your car. Everytime i see a clk with those wheels just pains me to think that someone could be that tasteless...
I saw a few CLK's with those wheels when i was looking for mine, i walked away straight away...
Seriously, leave it if you cant afford the nicer ones...

I'd like to know who voted HIT and why?

Sending me pics of your car was dangerous! How about some 18" SL55 AMG multispoke rims? :)

Wonderful!!!! What about a charity appeal for R2's wheel fund!!Every pound given will go to a very good cause.

OK guys the handbook says ET37 for my w202 whose got what ET fitted and is their a concensus on fitting ET42 to my car. Does a higher et number move the tyre near the outside of the car or nearer the centre of the car?

nearer the centre i think, as mines an extremely low et and its much further off the hub than other mercs ive owned (the bolts go so far in the holes you cant see them anymore!)...
