Am I the only one to think one should change shocks when one changes springs?
Have read on so many threads peeps lowering their cars just by fitting shorter springs. Surely one must fit shocks with shorter travel to contain the suspension within the spring length? Or was my experience of building road racers flawed?

True...

The monkey who owned my car before me lowered it by just putting shorter springs on and leaving the standard shocks in place...

With the result that the shock were continuously partially compressed and worn out .... and the car handled like a supertanker ....

A nice new set of Brabus spec Bilsteins and all is well ....

The Bilstein sport shocks are the same length as standard but with more rebound and compression damping required for the higher spring rate.

The Bilstein Sprints which I think are the same as Howard's, are shorter in length to accomodate a 40mm drop.

The expensive Bilstein PSS9 coilovers are the ultimate although not available for the E-class. Adjustable spring length and both rebound and compression knobs on the bottom.Drool.:bannana:
