Afternoon all,

I'm about to get my front garden and driveway renewed/landscaped, whilst this is going on I don't really want to park my C63 on the street.

So I'm looking for recommendations for reputable companies in the East Midlands who might offer short term storage? I'd be looking at 2 weeks (which is the estimate the landscapers have given for completion).

I've only found two so far, 'ClassicWise' in the Newark area and 'BoxedClassics' somewhere near Grantham - anyone have any experience of either? Not much in the way of online reviews for either of them.

Not massively bothered about cost, provided the facilities are right - but whoever it is must be within the East Midlands area.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Simon

Simon, forget about the East Midlands area, and bring it down here to south Wales.
I can assure you I'll take good care of her, and if you are willing to ignore the mileage being added on, I'll even throw a bucket of water over her before you pick her back up.

I'll await your pm regarding dates :)

It looks like a c220d park it on the street slim it won't get a 2nd glance.

Seems a lot of faff for 2 weeks, have you not got a family member/friends drive or garage you could use?

In short, no I haven’t. The places I’ve looked at all do weekly storage, I’d rather a bit of a faff than someone breaking in, nicking it or a workman covering it in detritus whilst cutting stone for the drive, to be honest.

The one above is only £35 a week and about 20 odd miles away from me anyway.

Have you any experience with them yourself? They look like a professional outfit though, so will drop them an email...thank you.
I haven’t yet but probably will be in the nut too distant future.

Thought I'd just update this thread for completeness....

I ended up using BoxedClassics to store my car. Initially I wasn't sure if I wanted to leave my car with someone random I found on the internet, but I was invited over to have a look at their facilities and have to say I was suitably impressed.

The company is owned by the same guy who started 'The Car Crowd', which as I discovered is an investment company that specialise in fractional investments in classic and sports cars. He's also just gone into partnership with Jodie Kidd who started her own car collection and is also an investor (saw her to-die-for yellow Integrale EVO 2 which is stored there).

They have 3 conjoined units in a suitably anonymous rural location, lots of physical security as well as a permanent on-site presence, which is reassuring.

The thing that warmed my automotive heart the most though, was that Graypaul Nottingham use them to store overflow stock, so in one of the units its pretty much just used Ferrari's, everything from 550's all the way to F8 Tributo's and everything in between.

They also have an on-site detailer (not unusual I know) so my car is getting a wash and brush up too (maybe something more thorough, haven't decided yet).

All in all, if you need short term storage and you are in any way local to the middle of the country, I recommend looking them up!
